A challenge was given to the students of Room 14 to complete for Friday's 'Disconnected Day'.

'How many non-device learning activities can you think of?

Make a list of them and try and do as many as you can.'

Adriana had a very busy day completing her Word Finds, playing Board Games, reading in the warm sun, practicing her League and Basketball skills, and finally completing her chores so there was less to do on the weekend. Ka pai, Adriana.

Christabelle's artwork wall.
While walking in the park, Christabelle and her brother found painted rocks.
Family fun time creating different henna designs on her hand and forearm.
Christabelle showing off her pizza skills in the kitchen.
A completed Tongan Tapa design of a beautiful Sea Turtle.
Ka pai, Christabelle.

Ethan's lovely picture of a Cheetah chasing its prey (a goat) - setting in Africa.
A fantastic picture of the Uganda Flag and a description.
Ethan testing his catapult experiment and learning about fulcrum.
Measuring ingredients to make flubber soap slime. Looks like a lot of fun!
Ka pai, Ethan.

Archie and his family went for a colour walk and he chose the colour 'white'.
They took photos and turned them into a beautiful Colour Collage. Ka pai, Archie.

Arin was very busy at work on his Lego War Base.

Khizir and his beautiful Nature art piece.

Finally, Vanshika singing and playing a very popular children's song, 'Twinkle, Twinkle', and finishing off with playing 'Baa, Baa Black Sheep on the keyboard.
Ka pai, Vanshika.

We can definitely say Room 14 took up the challenge and conquered it successfully by engaging in a variety of fun non-device activities.

  1. Kia ora Ruma 14. What a good idea to have a device free day. I really miss board games because I used to play a lot with friends but don't actually own many. But I have been doing lots of puzzles which I don't normally do. How did it feel to have a break from devices for the day?
